Brisbane has long been a hub for internationals flying in from overseas. Now tourists can see even more of tropical Queensland with the addition of new air services throughout the state.
QantasLink, which was recently voted best regional airline of the year by Transport World, will now fly from Brisbane to Rockhampton, Gladstone and Mackay.
The new paths, along with increased services to existing routes, will offer more seats and convenient options for customers.
Brisbane attracted close to a million international visitors and over five million domestic travellers in 2011. The city hosted more international guests than the previous year, represented mainly by the countries of China, Singapore and New Zealand.
A holiday destination in itself and an international gateway city to places like the Great Barrier Reef, Brisbane continues to attract property investors the world over.
The addition of air services, including two new 115 seat-B717 aircraft "will deliver an increase of over 200,000 seats per year in Queensland", according to QantasLink executive manager Narendra Kumar.
The new fleet gives even more options to tourists and offers Australians a chance to see more of their own backyard.
